In My previous post I talked about the home being the most important part of a homestead. Then the second most important part would be the stead, I don’t just mean in the name “Homestead”. But the idea of stead, having purpose or to be given a purpose or duty. I like to think of that as out buildings, barns, utility sheds, etc. In most cases on a homestead, many outbuildings serve the purpose for which city dwellers rely on utility companies for. Like barns or greenhouses serving as the grocery store and so on. Since My little homestead is limited on space, I want to keep the number of outbuildings to a minimum.

Solution?

I plan on constructing a multi-cabin/ multi-workshop. Basically an all-in-one kind of building that will serve as many purposes as it can. It will also serve as a work area while building the main log cabin house. I can see myself being able to construct a medium sized log/ timber building faster then one 2 or 3 times its size.

What – Multi-Purpose And Centralized Starter Cabin/ Timber Frame Workshop/ Loft

Why – Experience, Work Space, Storage And A Place To Stay While Working On Homestead.
