A continuation of the Birth Month Flowers series, The next month is of course February. Even though many people think of Roses during the month of February, because of Valentine’s Day. The shortest month of the years birth month flowers are the Violet and Primrose.
The Wild Violet (Viola odorata)
Native to Europe and Asia, The Violet is indigenous to the temperate regions in the Northern Hemisphere. The Violet is among the earliest of blooming plants and flowers in spring, whilst the wild violet can showcase its colors even in winter. There are more then 400 species in the viola genus of the family Violaceae. Typically having heart-shaped leaves and asymmetrical flowers, many of which are violet in color.
